Public Toilet Near Kurfürstenplatz in Munich
Location
This public toilet is located near the stops around Kurfürstenplatz. It was easy to find from the large intersection near Nordendstraße and Hohenzollernstraße. From there, I walked a short distance toward Kurfürstenstraße and found the toilet area without much trouble. Because it is close to tram and bus stops, it is a useful option when you need a toilet while moving through the area.
Waiting Time
When I visited, one person was ahead of me, so I waited about 7 minutes. There is only one toilet, so the waiting time can become longer very quickly. One older review on this site mentioned that someone stayed inside for a long time, causing a much longer wait. If it is urgent, it may be better to keep another nearby option in mind.
Cost
When I used it, the fee was 0.60 euros. An older review mentioned a much lower price, but a later review also referred to 0.60 euros, so that seems like the more realistic amount to expect now. Still, the price may change, so it is best to check the payment machine before paying.
Payment Method
Card payment was available. During my visit, the payment worked normally and the door opened right after payment. However, a more recent review on this site said that the machine charged the user several times but did not open the door. If the door does not open after one payment, it would be better not to keep paying repeatedly.
Cleanliness
The toilet was clean when I used it. For a public toilet in this kind of location, the condition was quite acceptable. The floor was not badly dirty, and the toilet area itself was fine. Several reviews also described it as clean, and my visit matched that impression.
Smell
There was no strong smell during my visit. The space was small, but the smell was not bad enough to make the toilet unpleasant to use. One older review mentioned a very bad smell after someone stayed inside for a long time, so the condition may depend on the timing and who used it just before you.
Door Lock and Possible Issues
The door opened normally for me, and the lock worked properly from the inside. I did not notice any broken parts during my visit. Since the entrance depends on the payment machine, a technical issue could still make the toilet unusable. Because a recent review mentioned a payment problem, the current on-site condition may vary.
Handwashing Area
The handwashing area was simple but usable. The sink area was not noticeably dirty, and it was enough for washing hands before leaving. It was not a spacious area, but it covered the basic needs.
Overall Satisfaction
Overall, I was satisfied with this toilet. The location is convenient, the toilet was clean, and card payment worked during my visit. The main downside is that there is only one toilet. If someone stays inside for a long time or the payment machine has a problem, it can become inconvenient quickly.
Would I Use It Again?
I would use this toilet again if I were near Kurfürstenplatz and needed one quickly. However, if someone was already waiting or the payment machine seemed to have an issue, I would look for another option right away. This review is mainly based on my own visit, while recent possible changes were checked through reviews left on this site. The actual condition may differ depending on the time of visit.
