Review of the rail & fresh WC at Munich Central Station
Location near the north side
I used the rail & fresh WC inside Munich Central Station. From the Arnulfstraße side, I entered the station and followed the signs toward Hauptbahnhof Nord, the U-Bahn stairs, and platform 24. The location is convenient for travelers moving between long-distance trains, regional trains, and the subway. Since this part of the station is usually busy, it is worth following the signs carefully.
Waiting time price payment
The toilet cost 1.50 euros when I visited. Entry was through an automatic gate, and I paid with coins. There was a card reader, but I would not rely on it. Recent user reviews on this site mention card and phone payment problems, including cases where money was charged but the gate did not open. Bringing exact coins is the safer choice. I waited about 3 to 5 minutes before getting in. During busy hours, the wait can be longer because of the gate system.

Cleanliness smell facility condition
The cleanliness was poor during my visit. The entrance area was the only part that looked somewhat maintained, while the stalls and floor were much worse. The floor was wet, there were paper scraps around, and several areas were visibly dirty. The smell was unpleasant. For a paid restroom, I expected a better standard. The stall I used locked properly, but some stalls were closed or out of service. There were also not enough hooks for bags or jackets, which made it uncomfortable for travelers with luggage.

Handwashing area water paper
The handwashing area was also disappointing. The area around the sinks was wet, and the water pressure was weak. I could wash my hands, but it was not a pleasant experience. Paper towels were not reliably available, and soap or disinfectant did not seem fully stocked. Recent reviews on this site also mention broken sinks and missing paper, so the on-site condition may vary depending on the time of visit.
Satisfaction and would I return
My satisfaction was low. The location inside the main station is convenient, but the price does not match the condition. If it is urgent, this restroom can still be used, but with extra time I would look for another option first. It is especially inconvenient with children, a stroller, or large luggage. I would only use it again in an emergency. Since recent user reviews still mention price, broken facilities, and cleanliness issues, it is better to expect possible differences on site.
