Rail & Fresh WC at Munich Central Station Review

Location Near Munich Central Station

I used the rail & fresh WC facility at Munich Central Station. From inside the station, I walked toward the Bayerstraße side, which is on the southern side of the main station area. The toilet was not too hard to find because the station signs and the nearby München Hauptbahnhof markings made the direction clear. If you follow the signs near the main station concourse and the Bayerstraße exit area, you can reach it without much trouble.

Waiting Time Before Entry

When I arrived, there were a few people ahead of me, so I waited for about five minutes. Since this toilet is inside one of the busiest train stations in Munich, people were constantly coming and going. The entrance area felt busy, especially because everyone had to use the payment machine before entering.

Fee and Payment Method

The fee was 1.50 euros. I paid in cash. There was a card payment option, but I would not rely only on card payment here. According to recent user reviews left on the site, some people had trouble with the card reader, and others said the machine took their money without opening the door. Because of that, carrying coins or small cash seems like the safer choice.

Cleanliness and Smell

The cleanliness was the weakest part of my visit. The floor was wet, pieces of paper were lying around, and some stalls were too dirty to use comfortably. For a paid toilet, I expected a better condition. The smell was also unpleasant. It was usable for a quick stop, but it was not a place where I wanted to stay longer than necessary.

Door Lock and Broken Facilities

The stall door I used locked properly. However, some parts of the facility were not in good condition. A few stalls seemed unavailable or not suitable for use. Recent user reviews on the site also mention that several toilets were out of order and that the entrance door sometimes did not open after payment. Since this can change depending on the day, the current condition on-site may be different.

Handwashing Area

The handwashing area was available, but it was not well maintained. The sink area was wet and did not feel clean enough. Some recent user reviews also mentioned broken sinks, missing soap, or faulty soap dispensers. During my visit, I could wash my hands, but for a 1.50 euro paid facility, the condition was below expectation.

Recent User Review Notes

This review is mainly based on my own visit. For recent changes, I also referred to user reviews left on the site. Many recent comments mention the 1.50 euro fee, poor cleanliness, faulty machines, and several closed stalls. There are also a few comments saying that staff helped people in urgent situations, so the staff experience may depend on the time and person on duty.

Satisfaction and Return Visit

My overall satisfaction was low. The location inside Munich Central Station is convenient, but the price, smell, and cleanliness did not match what I expected from a paid toilet. If I urgently needed a restroom, I might use it again because it is easy to access. But if I had more time, I would look for another option first. Before paying, it would be wise to check whether the entrance machine is working and to have small cash ready.
