WC near Spittelmarkt in Berlin Review

Current Operating Status

As of May 20, 2026, this City Toilet is marked as temporarily closed. That means it may not be available for use at the moment. Before going there, it is better to check the map listing or any notice on site.

Payment Before Entry

This toilet only accepted card or mobile payment. Cash was not available. For me, getting in was easy because I paid by card, but it could be inconvenient for someone who only has cash. Since it is a paid toilet, having a card or mobile payment ready is important.

Waiting Time

When the toilet was unoccupied, entry was simple and quick. However, after someone used it, there was a short wait while the automatic cleaning cycle finished. It was not a long wait, but when you really need to use the toilet, even a short delay can feel uncomfortable.

Cleanliness Inside

Compared with many other public toilets in the city, this one was in fairly good condition. The inside looked maintained, and the pleasant music made the experience a little better than a typical public restroom. However, the toilet seat and floor were partly wet, so it did not feel completely sanitary.

Hand Wash Area

The hand wash station worked automatically. It gave one pump of soap and then immediately started the water. That felt a bit rushed. It worked, but I would have preferred more control while washing my hands.

Overall Satisfaction

Overall, it was a decent paid public toilet. The easy entry, cashless payment, and automatic cleaning were good points. The downsides were the wet toilet seat, the wet floor, the lack of cash payment, and the short waiting time between users.

Final Rating

I would give it 4 out of 5 stars. It was better than many city toilets, but not perfect. Since it is marked as temporarily closed as of May 20, 2026, I would recommend checking whether it has reopened before visiting.
