Public Toilet Near Wichertstraße Berlin Review

Location Near Prenzlauer Allee

This public toilet was easy to reach from Prenzlauer Allee station. I walked along Prenzlauer Allee toward Wichertstraße, and the toilet was located close to the street. Lao Xiang, ROLLS Asian Street Food, and the San Orthos orthopedic clinic were useful landmarks nearby. From Holiday Inn Berlin City Center East, it was also easy to find by walking down Prenzlauer Allee toward the Wichertstraße area.

Waiting Time and Access

When I visited, there was no long line. I was able to check the toilet right away, which was helpful in an urgent situation. However, access was not completely reliable. Reviews left by users on this site mentioned that the toilet was shown as open 24 hours but was actually out of order.

Cost and Payment

During my visit, the cost and use conditions had to be checked on the information displayed at the site. The back side area with urinals and washbasins was easier to access. For the main toilet cabin, it was important to check first whether it was actually open and usable. Since public toilet payment conditions can change, the current fee and payment method should be checked directly at the entrance.

Cleanliness Smell Interior

The toilet was usable when I visited, but that was the best part of it. It was enough for a quick emergency stop, but it was not comfortable. The cleanliness was poor. The floor and interior were not well maintained, and there was a clear public-toilet smell inside. I could use it briefly, but I would not stay there longer than necessary.

Door Lock and Out-of-Service Issue

The door closed properly during my visit, and I was able to use the toilet. Still, the facility did not feel reliable overall. For this location, the bigger issue was not only the door lock but whether the toilet was operating at all. Reviews left by users on this site said that it had recently been out of order even though it was listed as open. Older reviews also mentioned that it had been closed for months.

Handwashing Area and Back Side

The handwashing area was usable. I could wash my hands, and the basic facilities were available. The back side of the toilet was useful because there were freely accessible urinals and washbasins. For a quick stop, that was a practical advantage. Still, the current on-site condition may have changed.

Satisfaction and Revisit Intention

My overall satisfaction was low. The best thing about this toilet was its location near Prenzlauer Allee, with restaurants, a clinic, and a hotel nearby as easy landmarks. The weak points were the cleanliness, smell, and uncertain operating status. I would use it again only in an urgent situation. With more time, I would first look for another restroom in a nearby café, restaurant, or around the station.

Current Condition Notice

When I visited, the toilet was usable. However, reviews left by users on this site later mentioned out-of-service periods and long closures. The condition of this toilet can change depending on the day, so the current situation at the site may be different.
