Public Toilet near Mediterrano Cantina Estación in Berlin Review
Used in an urgent situation
I used this paid restroom at the station because I urgently needed one. The location itself was convenient, but the overall impression was disappointing from the start. Since there were not many alternatives nearby, I paid the fee and went in.
Price and payment
The restroom cost €1 to use. For a paid toilet, I expected at least a basic level of cleanliness, but that expectation was not met. Payment was also not very reassuring. Card payment does not seem to work reliably, so having coins or cash is definitely safer.
Waiting time and entry
I did not have to wait for a very long time, but it still took a while to find a usable stall. Some stalls seemed locked, dirty, or not suitable to use. When you are in a hurry, that makes the experience much more stressful.
Cleanliness inside
Cleanliness was the biggest problem. The floor was dirty, the toilet area had visible urine stains, and the smell was unpleasant. For a restroom that charges €1, the condition felt unacceptable. It did not feel better than a free public toilet.
Toilet paper and hygiene supplies
Toilet paper was not available everywhere. Soap and paper towels also did not seem reliable. Before using the restroom, it is better to check the stall first. Bringing tissues or hand sanitizer would make the visit less unpleasant.
Staff and maintenance
The restroom did not feel well maintained. Even if cleaning tools were present, the actual cleaning did not seem frequent enough. If there is a payment issue or a problem with the facility, I would not be confident that help would come quickly.
Satisfaction
My satisfaction was low. €1 is not a huge amount, but it feels expensive when the restroom is dirty and poorly supplied. It can be used in an emergency, but it is not a place I would recommend.
Would I use it again?
Only if I had no other choice. If I had more time, I would look for another restroom first. Anyone planning to use this restroom should bring coins, tissues, and hand sanitizer just in case.
